Job Description
Key responsibilities:
- Research and write media releases. statements, and speeches
- Develop proactive story pitches to achieve strategic objectives
- Liaise with Dept representatives, ministerial offices, government agencies, and other organisations to obtain necessary information and support
- Advise others on how to best represent the Department
- Organise and assist with media interviews and conferences
- Liaise with other business units on multi-media content and projects
Ideal experience:
- Journalism or public affairs background
- Strong writing skills and media liaison
- Strong people and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to identify issues and spot pro-active opportunities
- Experience working in a deadline-driven high pressure environment
- Experience working within a large complex public organisation would be beneficial but not mandatory
