A brief outline of the role is outlined below.
Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership
- Take the long-term business vision and strategy and translates into an annual strategic plan for all marketing operations
- Manage the operational execution through an annual activity calendar detailing 360 marketing campaigns
- Develop and monitor performance metrics, targets and priorities for the marketing team
- Conduct regular reviews of marketing performance measures to understand the health of the strategy and recommends/takes corrective action as required
- Work across the business to understand the holistic impact of marketing activity across all channels including digital, PR, events, advertising and partner campaigns
- Fulfil the role of media spokesperson when required for the brand
Sales Leadership
- Working with the CEO to develop the Sales strategy and provide strategic guidance to Group
- Working with the Sales Agency and Industry relations to develop and oversee the implementation of sales strategy for international group markets
- Track and analyse international and domestic group visitation data and respond accordingly
People Leadership
- Communicates and motivates team performance through setting vision, context and direction for the team
- Sets aligned and collaborative team and individual goals and priorities
- Conducts regular reviews of performance and behaviour and ensures a dialogue of regular feedback and coaching
- Recruits the best possible talent for the team
- Coaches, trains and develops the skills of team members to ensure their potential is understood and realised
- Refines the team structure and hierarchy in line with strategy and direction over time
Budget Management
- Works with CEO and Management to set and agree an annual budget for Marketing and targets for sales
- Develops business cases for additional expenditure outside budget if and when required
- Monitor expenditure within team to ensure investment is in the right things and return on that investment is being measured
- Coach team members to understand the financial drivers of the Marketing and sales effort
Stakeholder Management
- Plays a key role working with CEO and Leadership team to understand the expectations and intent behind all campaigns and partnerships
- Working with other Tourism operators private and government departments
